NOMINATED CARLISLE'S BEST HEALTH AND FITNESS CENTRE 2018

At iCan Health and Fitness CIC, we turn I Can’t into I CAN! – Breaking down  barriers and increasing activity for people who think they cannot or would not exercise. We believe that everyone can exercise, no matter your ability,  our team specialises in finding the right exercise for each individual. iCan is a Not for profit, community interest company run by members, for members. iCan’s facility in Carlisle and it’s Cumbrian outreach projects are kindly supported by the following funders:

Cumbria County Council

Cumbria County and City council support iCan by helping to fund some of our resistance training equipment and community parties, such as the Denton Holme street party in July 2018.

Cumbria Community Foundation

Cumbria Community Foundation helped iCan out with funding after machines, equipment and office equipment were devestated in Storm Desmond of 2015.

Awards for all- The Big lottery

The Big Lottery- Awards For All- funded iCan to facilitate Cumbria's first Rebounding programme for one year Sep 2017-2018. This trampoline style exercise and mentor programme helped many people start exercising with the help of new and old friends support. Rebounding is High intensity but kind on joints so all abilities can participate.

ACRE- Action with communities in rural Cumbria

Due to start In 2019 iCan will be facilitating a project to bring exercise and a wellbeing programme to 6 rural communities in Cumbria. This could be a WI group, a community centre or just a group of friends in rural Cumbria wanting to benefit from exercise coming straight to them rather than having to venture into larger towns or cities. The exercise will feature Rebounding (mini trampoline workout) and a workshop and health manual will accompany every 1 session over a 6 week period. Book now for your communities space. Only £20pp
